Hiring was one of the most significant factors in Apple. According to Steve Jobs’s philosophy in 1980s, “A players hire A players, while B players hire C players.”, and what he actually tried to convey was that his job was actually to hire the best people, who would hire the best employees and fill he organization with the ‘bests’.
According to Steve Jobs, “when employees are hired, competence is the key; they have to be really smart.” However he added “the real issue for me is, are they going to fall in love with Apple? Because if they fall in love with Apple, everything else will take care of itself. They’ll want to do what’s best for Apple, not what’s best for them, what’s best for Steve, or anybody else.”
Steve Job’s intention of hiring smart people was that they will be perfectionist people who always come up with new designs and ideas in order to perform and lead the whole company towards perfect innovative productions. Decision made about the types of people hired also directly affects the motivational theories and corporate culture in the organization as the workers form the social environment of the company.
